monday lunchtime
It was romantic in an unusual way wasn’t it?
Raindrops falling on our heads. Raffles place buzzling with quiet excitement, and the footsteps of office-people running helter-skelter from the rain.
With neither umbrella nor raincoat, we had to borrow a newspaper from the Today guy just to shield ourselves from the water and the leaking roof.
Every covered store was filled with people.
Alone in a crowd, almost. Alone with you, despite everything around us, in conversation and great company.
Alas, I was alone.
Literally.
